Dolphin Inside a Circular Wave Mandala Coloring Page

A dolphin curves nose to tail into a near circle at the center of this design, ringed by sixteen rounded cartouches that each hold a curling wave spiral. Small bubbles collect along the inside of the lower edge. The result reads as a mandala built from surf rather than from petals.

Symmetry is the way in. Color opposite cartouches in matching tones and work around the ring in pairs, and the whole border locks together even with only three colors in play. Working at random will still look busy, but it will not look designed.

Leave the dolphin lighter than its frame. The border carries most of the line work, so a pale animal inside a saturated ring keeps the eye where the composition points it, and the open space inside the dolphin's own curve stays as a rest.

Expect around ninety minutes. Cartouches are large enough for pencils or fine markers, and none of the enclosed shapes are small enough to be fiddly. Made for adults and confident older children.
