Cute Baby Dolphin Smiling Above the Water Coloring Page

A round little dolphin lifts its head over a single wavy line and grins straight out at you. Almost everything on the page is empty white: one chunky body, one small dorsal fin, one flipper, and a tail that curls back down to the water. The eye is drawn large with a white highlight left inside it, so a child can color the whole face and still keep the sparkle.

This is the easiest sheet in the dolphin set and the right place to start a three or four year old. There is no background to negotiate and no small gaps to catch a crayon tip. Most children finish it in ten minutes.

Skip gray if you like. Nothing about a coloring page requires accuracy, and a purple or turquoise dolphin over a green sea reads perfectly well at this age. If you do want the real thing, run a darker tone along the top of the back and leave the belly as bare paper.

Dolphins really do look like they are smiling, though that is an accident of jaw shape rather than an expression.
