Cottontail Rabbit in a Snowy Winter Forest Coloring Page

A rabbit sits low in fresh snow, front feet together, body rounded up against the cold. Its coat is drawn with thousands of short flicked strokes that darken along the back and the flanks and thin out toward the chest. Both ears are up, one turned slightly outward, with fine hairs along the rims. The whiskers fan wide on both sides of a shaded muzzle.

Slender birch trunks stand close together behind it, marked with the horizontal scars and knots that give birch its look. Thin branches cross the upper part of the sheet carrying a few small leaves. Falling snow is drawn as open circles of several sizes scattered right across the page, including over the trunks, so the flakes sit in front of the forest rather than behind it.

A shrub with rounded leaves grows at the left, seed pods and a bud stand at the right, and a low bank of snow runs across the foreground. Leave the circles white and the sheet keeps its winter feel no matter what you do with the trees.
