Swan Among Water Lilies With Elegant Curves Coloring Page

A swan sits low in a bed of water lilies, facing left, its neck curved into a deep S and its wing lifted into a fan of layered feathers along the back. The bill carries a solid black patch at its base and a fine line of shading runs down the front of the neck. Below and around the bird, around eight lilies open in tight rosettes of pointed petals, some lying flat on the water and some standing, with broad pads tucked among them. Two slender seed pods rise on curling stems to the left and right, and a pair of light scrolled ornaments decorates the upper corners. The bird is left almost entirely blank on purpose. Apart from the wing feathers and that line of neck shading there is nothing inside its outline, which makes it the largest area of white paper anywhere in the art nouveau group. Resist filling it with a heavy color. A whisper of blue or cream in the shadows, with the lilies below carrying the real intensity, is what makes a white bird read as white.
