Morning Glory Vines Climbing An Ornate Arch Coloring Page
An arch of thirty five morning glories on two posts, with the whole opening beneath it left empty.

An arch of morning glory climbs two square posts and meets overhead beneath a small iron finial of scrolled metalwork. Around thirty five trumpet flowers open across it, each a shallow bell with five radiating lines running back into its throat, and between them crowd dozens of heart shaped ivy leaves and a tangle of thin curling tendrils. Two of the flowers hang upside down from the crown of the arch. The space inside the arch is completely empty, floor to ceiling. That opening is the whole composition. Leave it white and the arch reads as a gateway with bright sky beyond it. Put anything in it, even a pale wash, and it becomes a wall with a pattern on it. Both are defensible but the first is what the drawing is asking for. The flowers are big and simple, so morning glory blue across all of them is the fastest route to a finished page, while varying blue, violet and pink around the arch takes longer and looks considerably better in person.
