This stall is loaded. Under a scalloped awning the counter disappears beneath piled squash, tomatoes, pumpkins, corn and clusters of small berries, with a leafy pineapple top pushing up at the left. Bottles stand on a shelf behind, baskets of fruit hang from the awning frame, and a trailing plant spills out of a hanging pot. Across the front, bushel baskets of apples sit beside tall pots of cut flowers, sunflowers and daisies among them. The whole scene is held inside a border of curling scrollwork with a rose in each upper corner.
There is no quiet area anywhere on this page, which makes it one of the longest in the set and one of the most rewarding if you work in short sittings.
