Tall Mushroom With A Wide Flat Cap Coloring Page

Height is what this drawing is about. A slender stem climbs most of the page and opens into a cap that spreads out flat and wide at the top, like a parasol someone left standing in the woods. The underside carries a dense fan of gill lines running from the stem out to the rim. Small leaves cluster around the foot of the stem and give the base something to sit on. The proportions make it an elegant page rather than a cute one. There is a lot of clean paper around the silhouette, so the shape itself does the work. Color the cap as one smooth sweep and the sheet stays calm. Pick out every third gill line in a deeper tone instead and the underside starts to look like it curves. Either approach works on this one. Pale olive and soft stone shades suit the species this most resembles, though a child reaching for the brightest pencil in the tin will not spoil it.
