Squirrel Sitting Beside A Mushroom Coloring Page

A squirrel sits upright beside a mushroom, holding an acorn in both front paws, its tail curling up behind it in a tall bushy sweep. The face is drawn large and friendly, with a round eye, a small nose and a pair of alert ears. The mushroom next to it is modest by comparison, a simple cap on a slim stem. Grass runs along the ground beneath them both. That tail takes up nearly a third of the page and it is the thing to plan for. Short strokes following the fur lines already drawn give it body, and leaving the inner edge lighter than the outer makes it look soft rather than flat. The acorn is tiny and deserves the richest brown available. Animal pages pull in children who are lukewarm about plants, which makes this a useful way into a nature set. Several more creatures appear elsewhere in this collection.
