Mushroom House On A Mossy Hill Coloring Page

This house sits on top of a hill, and a path of stepping stones climbs up to reach it. The stones are drawn as separate flat shapes set between two curving lines, so the path has a clear start at the bottom of the page and a clear end at the door. The house itself is small, with a round door in its stem and a spotted cap above. Tufts of grass dot the slope on either side of the path. Landscape pages ask for a different approach from the single subject sheets. The hill is one large area, and leaving it a pale wash stops it competing with the house at the top. Save the strongest color for the cap so the eye travels up the path and lands where it should. Counting the stepping stones out loud while coloring them is a reliable way to keep a younger child at the table for another five minutes.
