Caterpillar Crawling Up A Mushroom Stem Coloring Page

A caterpillar is making its way up the stem of a mushroom, its body curving around the stalk in a row of rounded segments. Each segment is a separate closed shape, so the whole creature works as a line of small areas waiting for color. Two short antennae stand up from its head and a round eye sits below them. Above, the cap spreads out with open circles scattered over it, and grass grows at the base. Segmented bodies are the best possible excuse for a color sequence. Running through a rainbow from head to tail is the usual answer and it looks great. Repeating two colors in strict alternation looks just as good and teaches pattern at the same time. Either way the caterpillar ends up as the brightest thing on the page, which suits it. Keep the mushroom quiet behind it and the climb stays the subject of the drawing.
