Butterfly Resting On A Mushroom Cap Coloring Page

A butterfly has landed on top of a mushroom and opened its wings flat. All four wings are visible, each one outlined and carrying large open circles across it, and two long antennae curl up from the head. The mushroom underneath is broad and solid, with gill lines showing beneath the rim and grass growing around the base of the stem. Symmetry is the whole pleasure of this page. The left and right wings carry matching shapes, so a child can mirror their color choices side to side and watch the pattern lock into place. Doing it deliberately is good practice in planning ahead, which is a skill most coloring pages never ask for. Butterflies also license the brightest palette in the box. Nothing about this subject calls for restraint, and the mushroom below can stay muted to let the wings carry the page on their own. Younger children can ignore the matching entirely and still finish with something that looks finished.
