Butterfly on a Spider Web with Morning Dew Coloring Page

A butterfly with clean open wings hovers beside a half built web, where fine spiral threads carry three hanging drops of morning dew.

This is one of the quietest sheets on the hub. A butterfly floats on the left with its wings fully spread, and almost nothing competes with it for attention.

Every wing is a plain outline broken into four or five large panels, with no stippling, no shading and no fine pattern anywhere on the insect. Two small circles sit near the tip of the upper left wing. The body is a narrow tube marked into short bands, and both antennae curl forward in a loose hook.

Off to the right a web has been spun into a corner. Its outer rim is drawn as a series of straight chords rather than a true circle, and the spokes run back to a small knot of spiral thread just behind the insect. Between two of the lower spokes the silk is filled in with fine concentric curves. Three drops hang from the strands, each a teardrop with a rounded base.

A single anchor thread climbs to the top edge of the page and one slender blade rises from the bottom.

All that open paper is the point. Keep your tones light and let the white carry the early morning feeling.
