Butterfly on a Fern Leaf in a Rainforest Coloring Page

A monarch sits at the center of this page with both wings fully open. Unlike most sheets in this set, parts of it arrive already printed dark: the outer margin of every wing is solid, and a double row of round white spots runs through that dark band on all four. Inside the border each wing is divided into long panels by thick veins, ready for whatever orange or gold you decide on.

The frond beneath arches from the lower left across to the right edge, its leaflets attached in pairs along a central rib and narrowing steadily toward the tip. A second frond enters at the far left and a third fills the bottom corner.

Larger rainforest leaves crowd the upper right and lower right, each one a smooth outline carrying a single midrib and a few side veins. Two long bare stems cross the lower half on their way out of the frame.

There is generous white space in the upper left, which makes this a forgiving sheet for younger children. Begin with the wing panels, then work outward through the leaves in two separate shades of green.
