A waterfall runs down the middle of this sheet, drawn as a curtain of long straight lines falling from a ledge near the top. It lands in a pool at the bottom, where a handful of flat ovals mark ripples spreading outward. Rounded shapes bank up behind the ledge, part cloud and part distant canopy.
Large tropical leaves frame the scene on every side. They push in from both upper corners on thick stalks and fan across the lower corners in wide blades, each one cut by a strong rib down the middle and a set of angled veins. Smooth boulders stack at the lower left.
To the right of the falling water a butterfly rests in profile with its wings raised. The upper wing carries a row of long narrow cells inside a beaded rim, and the lower one repeats that pattern at half the size.
Those vertical water lines will tempt you into coloring between every pair of them. Resist it. Two or three bands of pale blue down the whole curtain, with the rest left white, reads as moving water far better than careful stripes.
