Smiling Sun Mandala With Floral Petal Accents Coloring Page

A broad round face fills the middle of this page, drawn in the old almanac manner: heavy lidded eyes beneath arched brows, a strong nose, deep creases at the cheeks, and a wide grin showing two small pointed teeth. It is a striking face rather than a sweet one, and worth a look before you print if the page is meant for a young child. Around it spreads a double corona of leaf shaped rays, every one filled with fine curving veins. Beyond the sun, scattered across open white paper, float small leaves, single spirals and four loose clusters of roses, one to each corner. The face is left almost entirely blank, which is unusual and useful. With no shading marks to work around you can lay the lightest wash across it and let the drawn creases do all the modeling, and a pale yellow face against strongly colored rays is the treatment that suits this drawing best. The scattered corner elements are optional and the composition holds together perfectly well without them.
