Radiant Sun Mandala With Detailed Layered Rays Coloring Page

Twenty four long narrow rays reach out from the middle of this sun almost to the edges of the page, each drawn as a slim lance with two or three finer lines running up its length. Between and behind them lies a much denser corona of shorter overlapping petals, packed tightly enough that the eye reads it as one mass rather than as separate shapes. Right at the middle sits a small circle ringed with dots and left open. The contrast between those long rays and the dense middle is the design. The rays are individually large enough to shade from the base outward, which produces a real sense of light leaving the center, and doing that alone will carry the page. The corona behind them can then take a single darker tone across the whole mass without anyone needing to pick out its hundred small shapes. If you prefer, reverse it: bright and varied in the corona, restrained in the rays. What fails is treating both areas with equal attention, because then nothing comes forward.
