Aztec-inspired Sun Calendar Mandala Coloring Page
The densest page on the site, edge to edge with no margin, about a third of it already solid black.

This is the densest page in the entire mandala section and it runs right to the edges of the sheet with no margin at all. Read it from the middle outward. A small six pointed star sits at the center inside a ring of tiny repeated marks, then a cog wheel band, then a wide ring holding twelve carved cartouches with narrow dart shapes set between them. Beyond that runs a heavy double circle, then a band of pointed petals, and finally the corners fill with a repeating ornamental ground that carries on past the edges of the page. Roughly a third of the surface is already solid black. Do not attempt this one in a single sitting and do not start without a plan. The bands are what make it possible: work one complete ring at a time, finish it, and stop there. Because each ring is a closed system, a page colored over the course of a week still looks coherent, whereas jumping between rings produces a mess. Anyone new to dense mandalas should choose almost any other sheet here first.
