Every shape on this page is large, rounded and closed, and the outlines are thick enough to hold a crayon. A small daisy sits at the middle with eight short petals around a plain circle. From there broad rounded petals overlap outward in three ranks, with narrow tulip shapes tucked into the gaps between them, and the whole thing finishes in a scalloped rim with small spikes standing out between the scallops. There are perhaps sixty areas to fill in total, a fraction of what the detailed mandalas on this site ask for, and none of them are so small that a child would struggle. That makes it the page to hand to someone who has never colored a mandala before. The obvious approach is to give each rank of petals its own color so the layers separate, and the more interesting one is to alternate two colors within a single rank so that the ring appears to spin. Leave the small spikes around the rim white and the whole design lifts off the paper.
