This butterfly is drawn large, its wings reaching nearly the full width of the sheet. Long rounded cells run their length like the segments of a leaf, widening as they travel outward, and a slim ribbed body divides them down the middle. The head is small and carries a pair of fine antennae that sweep back over the wings. Behind all of it a rosette opens in several tiers of pointed petals, each shaded with close hatching and tipped with tiny buds and curls.

Protect it. Keep the wing cells smooth and unbroken, using flat color or the gentlest of gradients, and let the rosette carry the texture.
