Two tall sails carry most of the detail here. Both are packed with tight spirals, round bloom shapes and small drifting leaves, and both lean right as though the wind were leaning on them. The hull beneath is banded with long plank lines, and a low deck house with square vents sits just forward of the mast. A flag flies at the masthead and a smaller one off the bow. Up in the left corner an open circle stands for the sun, a flat cloud floats below it, and three gulls pass by as simple paired curves. Over on the right there is a big flower on a scrolling stem, a bird in flight with one wing spread, and a scatter of little blossoms. Waves fill the bottom half as long flowing ribbons that coil into spirals, with more flowers resting in both lower corners.

One tip is worth the ink. The sails and the water are already pattern, so leave the hull and the sun plain or the page gives the eye nowhere to rest. Blues and greens below the waterline, warmer shades above it.
