Eighteen is worth a second look, because the 8 is the only digit in the whole set a child can trace as one continuous loop without lifting a finger. Most children draw it as two circles stacked up, and that habit is hard to shift later when they are writing quickly. Follow the line instead: start at the top, cross down to the left, round the bottom and come back up through the middle. Doing that a few times fixes the shape faster than copying it ever does. The number fills almost the whole page as two thick bubble outlines with nothing else drawn around them, which makes the 8 large enough to trace comfortably and leaves two wide loops to colour once the tracing is done.
