Number 13 Coloring Page

Thirteen is the first teen number that plays fair. Eleven and twelve give a child nothing to hold on to, but thirteen finally sounds like three, and every number from here to nineteen follows that same rule. So this is the sheet to slow down on. Ask your child which number they can hear inside the word, then point at the 3 on the page and let them match the sound to the shape. Once that clicks, the rest of the teens tend to arrive together rather than one at a time. The number fills almost the whole sheet as two bubble outlines with wide blank middles, and nothing else competes with it, so a chunky crayon fits easily and there is very little chance of going over an edge. That much open space also makes it a good tracing page: run a finger down the 1 and around both curves of the 3 before any colour goes down.
