Donut and Coffee Mug Coloring Page

Two objects share this page. A ring donut rests on a round plate in the foreground, tipped toward you so its hole and its whole glazed top stay visible. Small oval sprinkles are scattered across the glaze, and the wavy edge runs all the way around. Behind the plate stands a tall straight sided mug with one round handle on the right. A band of evenly spaced circles runs around its middle, and two curling lines of steam rise well clear of the rim. The plate below is drawn as a shallow stack of rims, which gives the whole arrangement some weight. Outlines are thick and even throughout, which is why this sheet handles crayons and markers equally well. The mug is the part worth planning. That band of circles is a row of small closed shapes, so it takes a repeating pattern nicely. Alternate two colors around the band, or run every color in the box through it once. The steam lines are the only open shapes on the page. Leave them white and they read as heat. Trace over them in gray or blue and the whole picture warms up. Children old enough to hold a fine pencil enjoy that choice.
