Ark of the Covenant Coloring Page

The ark of the covenant is one of the most immediately recognizable objects from the old testament, and its shape, a gold chest with two winged figures on the lid, is distinctive enough that children who have encountered it in any medium recognize it at once. This sheet draws the ark large and straight-on, with carrying poles running through gold rings at either side so the construction is readable. The two angels face each other from opposite ends of the lid, their wings meeting above the center in a broad arch that frames the empty space between them. Both are shown in profile, which avoids depicting facial features directly. Geometric border panels run along the sides of the chest, giving the body of the ark a structured texture to fill rather than one large plain rectangle. This sheet suits a lesson on the tabernacle and the presence of God, a unit on the Exodus and wilderness journey, a session on the role of the priests, or any program that touches on the story of the ark being carried into battle or brought to Jerusalem by David. It also sits well beside the shepherd sheet for a King David sequence.
