Letter O Is for Owl Coloring Page

The letter O holds the same shape in both cases, so this sheet gives a hollow capital O and a smaller hollow lowercase o at the top and then hands the rest of the page to a perched owl with two big round eyes and rounded wings folded at its sides. O is usually the first letter a child can draw recognisably, because it is one closed curve with no corners, no lifts and no direction to get wrong. That makes this a good early page in an alphabet unit and a reliable confidence builder. The owl continues the theme without saying so, since its eyes, head and body are all built from the same rounded shapes as the letter above. Children often colour the two eyes first for that reason.
