The letter C is the same shape in both cases, which makes this one of the quickest sheets in the alphabet set to work through. A large hollow capital C and a smaller hollow lowercase c sit side by side at the top, each one a single open curve with a thick black edge, and a smiling cat sits below with its tail curled neatly around its paws. Because the two letters differ only in size, children can trace the capital and then repeat exactly the same motion smaller, which builds confidence early in the alphabet. The curve itself is a useful one to practise since it also forms part of G, O, Q and S.
