Nothing here but the display: a bird facing front, tail opened into a broad arc of large feathers.

This is the display and nothing else. The bird faces forward with its tail opened into a broad arc of large separated feathers, and the background is left empty so nothing distracts from it. The feathers are bigger and fewer than on the more detailed turkey pages here, which is exactly the point: it is built for younger colorists who want the same dramatic shape without the small work.
A fan of large feathers makes the best possible page for practicing a smooth blend. Take two colors, an orange and a red say, and on each feather start with one at the base and the other at the tip, overlapping them through the middle. Repeat that across every feather and the tail will look like a real display. Pencils will blend for this. Markers will not.
A turkey's fan is not purely for show. The tail goes up as a shield when two males square off, and a bird that can hold a wider, more symmetrical fan tends to win the standoff without either of them having to fight.
