Harvest Pumpkins And Gourds Decorative Display Coloring Page

This is an arrangement rather than a scene: pumpkins, striped and warty gourds, a few ears of corn and some trailing leaves grouped together on a wooden surface. The detailed treatment is where it earns its keep, because the gourds carry real surface texture with the bumps and ridges drawn individually, and the corn has every kernel outlined. No background, no horizon, just the group.

Gourds are the most colorful vegetables there are and this is the page to prove it. Real ornamental varieties come in cream, green, orange, near black and bicolor stripes, often two colors on the same fruit, so nothing you choose will look wrong. Give each gourd two colors with a hard line between them and the group will look like a real market display.

Those warty gourds are not diseased. The bumps are a genetic trait bred deliberately into ornamental varieties, caused by an excess of sugar in the fruit wall, and growers select for them because customers like them.
