Haunted Castle on a Cliff Coloring Page

A stone castle with two square towers, one of them capped by a tall pointed cone roof. Battlements run along the top of the near tower and across the center block, and a row of narrow arched windows is cut into every face.

The outlines here are fine and even rather than heavy, which makes this one of the calmer sheets in the collection. It suits pencils and fineliners, and it suits a child who likes to work slowly and stay inside the line.

Every window is an open arch with nothing inside it. There are seven of them and they are small, so they are the detail work on an otherwise broad page. Taking them all to the same dark tone makes the castle look empty. Lighting one or two tells a different story entirely, and that is worth pointing out before your child starts.

The walls are left completely bare, with no block work and no cracks. That is deliberate. Castle sheets usually arrive buried in stonework, and ruling in your own blocks at whatever scale you like looks better than printed texture. A single horizon line sits behind the base, so the ground beyond is yours to invent.
