Plain Pumpkin With A Curly Vine Coloring Page

Plain is the point. A single round pumpkin fills most of the paper, split by five tall curves into wide bands, and nothing competes for attention except a corkscrew tendril spiraling off one side of the stem and two broad leaves resting against the other. Count the areas and there are barely a dozen, which means a young child can finish the whole sheet in one sitting and see a completed picture at the end. That matters more than people expect. It doubles as the sheet to hand an adult who wants something quiet. Wide bands take a blended treatment well, and a pencil laid on its side across each band, deeper at the seams and lighter through the middle, turns a flat outline into something with real volume in about ten minutes. The leaves give somewhere for green to go so the page is not entirely one hue. Print two copies if there are two children. The shapes are simple enough that they will want to compare their versions afterward.
