Six people stand with their backs to you along the bottom of this sheet, so what you get is a row of large simple hair and shoulder shapes rather than a dozen small faces. Behind them three towers rise to the top edge, each one a plain rectangle ruled into a grid of small square windows. Nothing hangs on those walls. The signs that would normally crowd a city square have been left off, which turns the buildings into long quiet runs of shape you can fill block by block. Streamers curl down through the gaps between the towers, and star confetti drifts across the whole upper half. Treat the window grid as a puzzle if you like: fill every third square and leave the rest white, or work one tower in warm shades and the next in cool ones. The crowd below rewards a different approach, since each head and coat is big enough to take a pattern of its own. Fine tipped pens suit the windows. Anything thicker will serve for the coats.
