Celebration Cupcakes With Star Toppers Coloring Page

Three cupcakes sit together on a shallow round plate, each one in a fluted paper case with a thick swirl of frosting piled on top. Pushed into every swirl is a slim stick carrying a five pointed star, and the middle star is noticeably larger than the two beside it. The paper cases are drawn with vertical ridges running down them, which breaks each one into narrow strips. Those strips are the most useful part of the page. They can be filled in alternating shades for a striped case, or covered in one flat color for something simpler, and either choice looks deliberate. The frosting swirls spiral inward and can be followed round with a pencil to bring out the coil, or left plain and pale. Because there are three near identical objects here, this sheet works nicely for practising the same technique three times over with small variations. The plate underneath is one wide uninterrupted band, which makes an easy finishing stroke once the cakes themselves are done.
