Fireworks Bursting At Midnight New Years Eve Coloring Page

Three fireworks burst across the top of this page, set close enough together that their rays overlap where they meet. Each one grows out of a plain open ring at its center, and every ray is drawn as a narrow bar with its own outline and a white middle. That detail is what makes the sheet worth printing. The rays are not solid strokes, so each is a slim shape you can fill on its own, and a burst treated that way ends up looking like it is throwing light. Below the sky runs a line of city blocks at six different heights, every window a plain square and every wall left empty. Nothing joins the bursts down to the rooftops, so the two halves of the page work independently of each other. Run one warm color through the innermost rays of each burst and something cooler further out. The buildings want the opposite treatment. Choose a single quiet shade for the walls, leave the windows white, and the skyline will sit back and let the sky do the work.
