A party popper lies diagonally across the lower right of this sheet with its mouth aimed up and to the left. The barrel is a fat tube ringed by three narrow bands, and it tapers back to a handle that ends in an eight sided cap with a small circle at its center. Inside the muzzle a wheel of short straight rays spins out from a tiny spiral, which is where the blast begins. From there the whole upper half erupts. Long ribbons wind and kink their way outward, five pointed stars of three different sizes tumble through them, and hundreds of small rectangles, commas and dots fly out to fill every remaining gap. Nothing in that spray touches anything else, so each piece is a closed shape you can finish in one stroke. Nothing anchors the popper to a surface either, so it hangs free and the whole burst reads as motion in open air. Work outward from the muzzle and the confetti will settle into a direction rather than a scatter.
