A figure wound head to foot in loose bandages stands at a party, a few trailing ends coming undone, a paper cup in one hand and streamers and balloons behind. The intricate version draws each bandage as a separate overlapping band with frayed edges, so the whole body becomes a pattern of interlocking strips. That layering is the main pleasure of the page and it takes a while.
Bandages should not all be the same shade or the figure will flatten into a white blob. Use three closely related tones, a cream, a light tan and a slightly gray beige, and alternate them band by band so the wraps read as separate strips. Save the strong color for the party behind, which lets the muted figure stand forward.
Egyptian mummification used linen, not gauze, and a single body could take several hundred yards of it wound in many layers. Priests often worked with old household sheets and worn clothing, and some wrappings have been found with the original owner's laundry marks still on them.
