Eight carved pumpkins are arranged over a set of porch steps, each with a different face cut into it, some grinning with square teeth and others with triangular eyes. Behind them the house has a double front door with paneled glass, a railing on either side, and bare branching trees reaching in from both edges of the sheet. A bat crosses a full moon at the top. A great deal is packed in here, so it rewards somebody who wants to sit with it.
Eight pumpkins in a group could easily turn into eight identical orange blobs. The fix is to vary them, since real pumpkins ripen anywhere from pale yellow through deep red orange, so run that whole range across the set. Keep every carved eye and mouth as untouched white paper and they will look lit from inside, which is the single thing that makes a jack-o'-lantern drawing work.
Carving a real one alongside this is worth doing. A cut pumpkin lasts roughly five to ten days, and rubbing petroleum jelly along the cut edges slows the drying that shrivels the face.
