The monster is drawn as an amiable giant, bolts at the neck, stitched jacket, holding out a bowl of individually wrapped sweets toward the viewer. The detailed style fills that bowl properly, so every wrapper has its own twist and pattern, and adds a doorway and a patterned floor behind him. His jacket seams are drawn stitch by stitch. This is adult and older teen work.

Green skin is the expected choice and it works, but flat green over the whole figure will kill the modeling the artist put in. Build it instead: a pale yellow green across the face first, then a stronger green pressed into the hollows of the cheeks, under the brow and along the jaw. The bowl of sweets is where to go loud, a different bright color on every wrapper.

Mary Shelley never gave the creature a name, and never mentioned bolts, green skin or a flat head. All of that comes from the 1931 film, where the makeup artist Jack Pierce invented the look. The novel describes yellow skin and long black hair.
