A gingerbread house with every decoration stripped off it. The roof is a wide pitch drawn as two parallel lines, which leaves a long empty band running along each slope where icing would normally go. The walls are two tall rectangles with slightly wavy edges, the way a baked cookie wall actually sits, and a thick ruffled slab runs along the ground beneath them.
There is one small round window high in the gable and one tall door, and the door carries a pair of circles for a handle. Nothing else is printed anywhere.
Treat it as the undecorated base it is. The empty roof bands are for gumdrops or icicles, the blank walls are for candy canes and peppermints, and the whole front is large enough that a felt tip will not run out of room. For a younger child the plain version is easier than a decorated one, because there are only six or seven areas on the page and all of them are big.
A single horizontal line behind the house marks the ground and runs out to both edges of the paper. Everything above it is open, so snow or a sky is yours to add or leave alone.
