A whole tray of cookies seen from overhead, with a slot handle at each end and a double rim running around the edge. Eight cookies are laid out on it in two rows.
Four of them are small gingerbread people, each with dot eyes, a smile, a line of buttons and a zigzag of icing on both arms. The others are two stars, one drawn as a double outline and one plain, and a pair of Christmas trees with short square trunks.
Mixed shapes like these make the page useful for more than filling in. Ask which cookie is repeated most, or have a child color every star one color and every tree another, and the sheet turns into a sorting exercise without stopping being a coloring page.
There is also a lot of blank tray between the cookies. That empty metal is worth a light wash of gray or a pale brown, because leaving it white makes the cookies float and filling it in dark makes them vanish.
The tray sits across the middle of the paper with wide white bands above and below. It is the busiest sheet in this collection and the one most likely to take an older child a full half hour.
