The comedy is in the second figure. Dad stands at the left with a patch of shaving foam covering his chin and jaw, holding the razor up in one hand and his other hand lifted to his face. Over at the sink the boy stands with his chin tipped at precisely the same angle, hands clasped in front of him, watching every move. The bathroom is fully built out. A pedestal sink with a curved basin and a tall faucet sits on the right, a mirror hangs on the wall behind him, a medicine cabinet hangs on the wall behind the boy, and the floor is ruled into square tiles that run off both edges of the sheet. Those tiles will eat time if you fill every one. Coloring only every other square turns the floor into a checkerboard and finishes it in half the time. The foam should stay white. It is the one place in this drawing where blank paper is the correct answer, and it reads instantly against whatever color you give the wall behind him.
