Here is one of the simplest sheets in this set, built from a handful of large rounded forms. A wide quilt spreads over the bottom of the paper as a single soft shape, dipping and rising along its lower edge, and two pillows stand up behind the pair sitting on it. On the left the father leans in with a broad grin, a round chin, a scatter of small ticks across one cheek and short hair that lifts into three points. His top is plain, given one line for a collar and one for a sleeve. The child next to him is smaller and rounder, with a soft cap of hair, two dots for eyes, a little smile, and legs tucked up and crossed at the ankle. An open book stands upright between them, its spine down the middle and a page falling either side, and each of them has a hand under one cover. No room is drawn around the bed at all. That white space is the point, because every shape on this page is large, closed and blunt, which suits a child still learning where a crayon has to stop.
