Dad At The Grill Barbecuing With Chef Hat Coloring Page

The hat is the joke and it gets the space it deserves. It puffs up above his head in three soft lobes over a wide flat band, taking nearly a quarter of the sheet before you reach his face. He is turned in profile with a half smile, wearing an apron whose strap crosses one shoulder and disappears behind his back. The grill sits on three splayed legs with a deep round bowl. Across the top runs a grate ruled into narrow bars, and resting on it are a burger in a bun and a second patty on a small round tray. A single curl of smoke rises to the right of the grate, drawn as one loose S curve with nothing else around it. That bowl is a large uninterrupted surface. Charcoal black is the obvious choice, but a red kettle against a white apron makes the whole picture brighter, and the bars of the grate stay visible either way. One straight line runs behind his feet for the ground, and above it the page is empty. A fence, a lawn, or a plain blue wash all fit there without crowding the hat.
