Dad And Child Playing Catch In The Backyard Coloring Page

A wooden picket fence runs the entire width of this page, and it is the first thing to plan for. Every board is capped with a pointed top and scored with long grain lines, so you are looking at roughly a dozen tall panels waiting for color. Alternating two shades board by board turns that background into a striped wall instead of one flat slab. In front of it the boy has both arms stretched straight up with the ball held in his fingertips, ready to throw. The ball carries two curved seams across its face, which is the detail that decides whether it reads as a basketball or a beach ball once you pick up a pencil. His dad stands at the left in profile, hands loose at his waist, already watching it. Short grass tufts sit along the bottom edge under the fence posts. They are quick, and they anchor both figures to the same ground. Shirts, shorts, and sneakers give you six separate clothing shapes across the two people. Matching them will make it read as a team. Clashing them will make it read as a Saturday afternoon.
