Children Hunting For Easter Eggs In A Garden Coloring Page
Two children trade a loaded basket over a bed of tulips, with more eggs still sitting out in the grass around their feet.

Two children meet in the middle of a tulip bed, one kneeling and one standing, and between them passes a woven basket heaped with eggs. A second basket, just as full, hangs from the standing child's hand. Around their sneakers the hunt is plainly unfinished: five more eggs lie out in the grass, two of them tucked against a tuft, one cracked open near the bottom edge. Tulips crowd in from both sides, some open and some still closed buds, and a tree fills the upper right with leaves and a thick trunk running all the way down. Only the patch of sky at the top left is left blank.
This sheet moves at two speeds. Faces, baskets and loose eggs are large and go quickly. The tulip beds and the canopy are dozens of small closed shapes and will absorb as long as anyone cares to give them.
Give each loose egg its own color and keep the ones in the baskets plainer, so the hidden ones still read as the prize.
Congress banned egg rolling from the Capitol lawn in 1876 because it was wrecking the turf. Two years later President Hayes opened the White House grounds to the children instead, and the party has been held there ever since.
