A girl stands side on, facing right, holding a sparkler out in front of her at about shoulder height. She is drawn in profile on purpose, so you see one eye, one eyebrow and a small smiling mouth, and her long plait falls down her back in a neat row of linked loops that are fun to color one segment at a time. Her clothes are a loose tunic reaching below the knee over straight trousers, with a plain cuff at each wrist and a soft collar, all of it left open with no pattern to work around. The sparkler is a thin straight stick held in her closed fist, and at its tip a burst of short fine lines shoots out in every direction. Those lines are deliberately left unfilled. They read as sparks against white paper, and any color laid over them dulls the effect, so most children leave that corner alone and put the work into the tunic. There is no background at all, which makes this a good sheet for anyone who wants to draw their own night sky behind her.
