Reindeer Flying Over Snow-covered Rooftops Coloring Page

A team of reindeer in harness runs through the air above a row of snow topped houses, legs extended, with the roofs and chimneys below them and a moon behind. The line art is clean and the animals are drawn as clear separate silhouettes rather than an overlapping tangle, so a child can tell where one ends and the next begins. Five and up.

Ask the colorist to notice that the reindeer nearest the front are drawn slightly larger. Filling those in stronger browns and the ones further back in lighter, thinner brown will double the sense of depth the artist has already built in. Rooftop snow is best left as white paper with just a blue line along the shaded edge of each roof.

Reindeer are the only deer species in which the females grow antlers too, and the males shed theirs in late autumn. Since the animals pulling a sleigh in December are almost always drawn with a full set, they would in fact all have to be female.
