One large slice stands with its point at the top and its crust curving along the bottom, and the whole thing sits inside a leaded window frame, complete with rows of small panels running across the top and the bottom of the page. Thick black lines break the pizza into flat sections and every one of them is left blank. The round toppings become sections of their own across the surface, so the food still reads clearly underneath the treatment. A stained glass sheet repays bold color rather than careful color. Choose a small set of strong shades, fill each section flat and even, and let the heavy black lines do the work of separating them. Do not blend anything. The effect depends on each section being one clear color with a hard edge against its neighbor, which is exactly how real leaded glass behaves. Two rules help here. Never let the same shade sit in two touching sections, and keep a few of them white so light appears to come through the design. If you want the finished sheet to glow, color it on thin paper with markers and tape it to a window. There are far fewer separate areas here than the patterned sheets carry, so it finishes faster than it looks.
