Slice of Pizza on a Plate Coloring Page

One slice, one plate, nothing else on the page. This is the calmest sheet in the pizza set and a good one to hand a child who gets overwhelmed by a busy picture. The plate is the useful part. It gives you a large plain ring around the food, and what you do with that ring changes the whole page. Leave it white and the slice jumps forward. Fill it with a flat pale blue or grey and the sheet suddenly looks like a photograph of lunch. A patterned rim, drawn in with your own dots and zigzags, turns a simple page into something personal, and there is enough room to do it without crowding the food. The slice itself carries a raised crust along its wide end and a scatter of pepperoni rounds, each one an open circle rather than a filled disc. Color the pepperoni before the cheese, because they sit on top and it is easier to work around a finished shape than to squeeze color up to its edge afterwards. Thick markers work fine here, which is not true of the detailed sheets in this collection.
