The shortfin mako is the fastest shark in the ocean, and this sheet catches one at full stretch. Long straight motion lines stream in from the top left and bottom left corners and rush past the body, which pulls the whole composition diagonally toward the shark's pointed snout.

There is plenty here for an older colorist to work on. Five curved gill slits sit behind the head, a tall triangular fin rises from the back, two long narrow fins reach out from the sides, and a deep crescent tail closes the picture on the right. A row of large oval patches runs along the upper body. Those ovals are left as open shapes rather than printed shading, so they can carry a second tone and suggest the darker back a real mako has above its pale underside.

Because the motion lines are fine and closely spaced, pencils will handle them better than broad markers. One approach is to leave those lines bare and put your color into the body and fins, letting the white streaks read as rushing water. Another is to grade them from deep at the page edge to almost nothing where they meet the shark.
