The shark lies flat on the bottom with its belly on the sand, which is the correct pose for the species and an unusual one in a coloring book. Its whole body is filled with spirals, some tight and some loose, packed edge to edge from the snout right down to the tail, and two short barbels hang below the mouth. Above it the water is drawn as more spirals, looser and further apart, with a spray of flowers hanging into each top corner. Along the bottom sit small corals, shells and flower shapes on a sand line. There are perhaps four hundred spirals on this sheet. Treat them as a single field and use two or three close tones at random rather than trying to plan the arrangement, which is how these patterns are meant to be worked. Pencils, and a couple of sittings. Nurse sharks can rest on the bottom because they pump water over their gills with their cheek muscles instead of swimming, so unlike most of the sharks in this set, this one genuinely can lie still.
